Whether you are applying for the first time, adding your family members onto your health-care plan, or making changes to the information on your account.
What Is Covered Under AHCIP?
The AHCIP encompasses services like consultations with a physician or psychiatrist, as well as diagnostic procedures. Some services, such as eye exams for minors (under 18) or seniors (over 65), receive partial coverage. However, cosmetic surgery and routine dental care are examples of services that are not covered. For additional details on what falls within or outside the scope of AHCIP coverage, please refer to the Alberta Health Services website.
If you are single, you have the option to complete the application form individually. However, if you are married or in a common-law relationship, you must submit the application jointly with your partner, unless they do not reside in Alberta with you.
If you currently have healthcare coverage and are adding family members who have recently relocated to Alberta, you are required to complete an additional form.
Additionally, if you wish to update your information or request a new Alberta Health Card, you can do so by completing an update form.
